THE SEA OF CREATIVITY. Perspectives of Creative Industries in the Baltic Sea Region

The conference took place on 23-24 February 2010 in Vilnius - Lithuania and its' main goal was in an innovative and attractive way to present various national and international initiatives illustrating how the creative industries are being developed in the Baltic Sea Region, also to map the need of cooperation in this field and to discuss how this cooperation could be continued in the future.
The conference took place on 23-24 February 2010 at the Design Innovation Centre, in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Organizers of the conference: Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania and the Lithuanian Presidency in the Council of the Baltic Sea States.
The main goal of the conference was in an innovative and attractive way to present various national and international initiatives illustrating how the creative industries are being developed in the Baltic Sea Region, also to map the need of cooperation in this field and to discuss how this cooperation could be continued in the future.

During the conference the boldest and most creative artists from Vilnius invited conference participants to take part as judges in the exciting competition “Strong Thinking. Express workshop for the creators of tomorrow”, where they witnessed how during only a couple of hours the innovative products could be created for the future markets. The participants of the conference had a great opportunity to visit the newest creative industry centers of Vilnius and Lithuania during the conference days.

150 participants, representing decision makers, civil servants and creative industry practitioners from the whole Baltic Sea Region attended the conference.
