A nomadic project structured around an interactive work made up of textile, music and IT elements towards an exhibition/performance.

OBJECTIVE :

Phase 1- To create a series of town portraits through the use of textile and music, and which would involve the local population. This by way of a round trip between the artist and the townsfolk taking part, who would thus become both creators of, and participants in, the work.

Phase 2 - Creation of a textile book/CD illustrating the towns taking part in the project.

THE symphonja PROJECT. step by step :
1 - Arrival in the town;
2 - Choosing coloured ribbons and materials inspired by the place;
3 - Choose ten inhabitants;
4 - Give each person a score and a card indicating the value of each note in order for the participant to spontaneously write a ten note series (musical knowledge not necessary);
5 - Photograph each person (note their first name, age, occupation, length of time resident in town);
6 - Record the scores at random with the help of computer software;
7 - Weave the “musical/textile” composition whilst playing the music in performance.
