From Monday,22nd to Friday, 26th, LABoral Centre of Art and Industrial Creation will host “Silver Screen Workshops” (Talleres …de Cine), organised in collaboration with the International Film Festival of Gijón (It will be launched on November, the19th ). These workshops are part of the Enfants Terribles section of the Festival and the activities of the Pocket-Sized Film Festival organised by Centre of Art and Industrial Creation. as part of its LABmóvil programme.
This activity is focused on young people from 6 to 18 years old and its main objective is to encourage them to create using audiovisual technologies, to make movies using mobile phones, digital cameras, small video cameras. This will lead them to a better understanding and analytical grasp of cinema. In Silver Screen Workshop students will go from being mere spectators to living audiovisual reality from within, through serious reflection. Specific activities will be prepared for each age group.
The workshops, coordinated by Creation and Didactic Space, will last for 50 minutes. Participants will exhibit their work in Platform Zero of LABoral Centre of Art, alongside images, texts, documents and movie games. The work space will change from day to day as newly finished projects are completed and added to the exhibition. The activities are meant to introduce participants to the language of the cinema, familiarising them with the contents and forms of various narratives, providing them with the guidelines they need for deeper film analysis. A blog will be created - Talleresdecine.blogspot.com - where the work and opinions of the young participants will be shown, along with didactic materials. Also, on the filMO website (http://www.filmolaboral.com), there will be a section featuring all the work completed in the workshops.
