Is it possible to build a machine that rides thunders? How can the wind move objects, artefacts and vehicles? Do tiger-men exist? Have you ever seen a centaur making a bizarre gadget,? You want to feel, touch chaos? Do you want to reason with magic, to play with the unease of not controlling the physical space, to experience the movement of vertigo, fall and stand up for harmony, or ignore the solidity of the bones until they become soft like clay?
Secret, the latest show of Johann Le Guillerm is the weird answer to these weird questions. He is the last of the Renaissance lonely men, the last showman, the last unclassifiable genius. Everything is possible for him: circus without clowns, expressionism, corporal discipline, insight, dry humour, audacity, heterodoxy, imagination, visual impact, storytelling ... Impossible? This doubt is permissible only because they have not seen Johann Le Guillerm.
Johan Le Guillerm, awarded the Circus National Grand Prix in 1996, is a tightrope, manipulator and maker of objects. He has become a virtuous circus performer, having spent his entire career experimenting with movement and the inanimate, conceptualizing an art where everything seems possible.
The performance presented in the Plaza de Toros El Bibio (Gijón) is the result of a trip around the world and two years of research during his artist residency at the Parc de la Villette (Paris).
